From 2 March to 19 September 2026, Brussels Airport will renovate an important taxiway junction that provides access to runway 07L/25R. These works are needed to keep air traffic running safely and smoothly. No impact is expected on the Preferential Runway System (PRS).
We are renewing the asphalt, installing new lighting, and improving the drainage system. Because these taxiways are used intensively, the renovation will be carried out in phases to ensure access to the runways and to minimise the impact on airport operations.
Most works take place Monday to Friday, from 06:00 to 18:00. During critical phases, work may continue six or seven days a week, including overnight, to limit daytime impact. Deviations from this schedule will only occur when required. Favourable weather conditions are also important to keep the project on track.
These works require many transport movements. You may therefore see more trucks than usual, especially in Nossegem and Steenokkerzeel.
How does the construction traffic circulate?
To keep everything safe, we are introducing speed‑reducing measures in Namenstraat. This helps protect cyclists, pedestrians and local residents.
