On 10 February, Aviato, the employment hub of Brussels Airport, and its partners - Brussels Airport Company, VDAB, Actiris, Voka Chamber of Commerce Flemish Brabant, POM Flemish Brabant, SFAL and SFTL - organised the fifth edition of the Aviato Jobfair. This year’s event welcomed nearly 6,000 jobseekers, students and other interested visitors, a record!
Jobseekers, students and other interested visitors were given the chance to discover 50 participating companies that together offered over 400 job opportunities at the airport as well as hundreds of jobs across various sectors in the region.
At Brussels Airport, the most sought‑after profiles range from blue‑collar workers and technicians to administrative and office staff. There is also strong demand for customs officers, security and screening personnel, cargo and logistics staff, chefs, and employees in hospitality, food service and retail.
Aviato attracts talent across language borders and works closely with partners such as VDAB, Actiris and Le Forem to enhance interregional labour mobility. The results speak for themselves: 54% of candidates came from the Brussels-Capital Region, 41% from Flanders and 5% from Wallonia.
For jobseekers who do not yet have all the required skills, information booths from LOGOS, GTB, Actiris, VDAB, Le Forem and the Cité des Métiers offered guidance and directed them towards training programmes to help them develop new competencies.
Aviato, together with several partners, also supports candidates in developing or strengthening their skills while offering concrete solutions for shortage occupations at and around the airport.
