E-learning course & online e-learning test (login)

E-learning modules 

Before an airport ID card can be issued, the employee for whom an airport ID card request was submitted must pass a test to prove that they have the basic knowledge to be able to work at the airport and guarantee their safety and that of all others. 

To allow them to prepare for the tests, an e-learning course was developed. 

This e-learning course consists of the following modules: 

• The Security Awareness e-learning (on average this takes about 40 minutes) consists of two modules followed by an exam. 
  • Module 1: Security Awareness 
  • Module 2: Personal security & radicalisation 
• The Health & Safety (working safely) e-learning (average duration: 10 minutes) followed by an exam. 

Please note! All applicants will be tested on both except for Brussels Airport Company staff and diplomats who will only be tested on the Security Awareness module. 

Everyone applying for an airport ID card is supposed to follow the e-learning course to be familiar with all safety and security regulations. Taking the e-learning course is also necessary to pass the test. 

The modules also contain a set of practice questions to help candidates prepare for the actual test. These practice questions do not count in the final test result. 

Online e-learning test (login) 

The e-learning test can only be taken online. 

As an employer, we count on you to handle these tests responsibly and take the necessary measures to ensure that the future airport ID card holder takes this test in person and complies with the usual examination principles. Please note that the test results will be considered invalid in case of doubt. 

AHLEX, our training partner, powers the eLearning platform for performing the e-learning and test. 

Good to know!
Since January 2026, requests for login credentials must be handled by an authorised badge manager within the company. The badge manager requests login credentials through the AHLEX system, so that individual requests are no longer submitted.

If you are not yet an AHLEX customer

Are you the badge manager within your company? Send the following details to badgetraining@ahlex.eu:
   • First name
   • Last name
   • Company + VAT number
   • Company address
   • Professional or private email address
   • Date of birth
   • Language of the online training (EN/NL/FR)

Are you not the badge manager within your company? Ask the person responsible for requesting landside/airside badges to contact AHLEX. (This person is usually in cc on the email with your BAC security clearance.)

Nothing changes for BAC employees and diplomats. They still follow the old procedure. Send the following details to badgetraining@ahlex.eu:

To obtain an airport ID card, the candidate needs to succeed in the Security Awareness test with a score of at least 6 out of 10 (duration: ± 6 minutes). The candidate can take the Security Awareness test maximum twice on the same day. 

The result of the ‘Health & Safety’ test (duration: ± 6 min.) has no impact on the issuance of the airport ID card. However, the results per company will be monitored regularly. 

If the overall results are unsatisfactory, the Health & Safety department of Brussels Airport Company will discuss this with the employer and will urge the latter to increase health and safety awareness among their employees. 

As soon as the applicant has successfully passed the test(s) and is notified by their employer that their airport ID card is ready for pickup, they can make an online appointment here to collect their airport ID card. 

Please remind your employee to bring their identity card when they come to collect their airport ID card, as well as the QR code for the appointment.
