Brussels Airport gets permit for Hub 3.0 Phase 1

Infrastructure

In December, Brussels Airport received the environmental permit for the first phase of Hub 3.0. This officially approves the project and allows the works to begin.

Building the aiport experience of the future

With Hub 3.0, the airport aims to thoroughly modernise its infrastructure. The project is designed to adapt the site to future needs and consists of several interventions:

  • an expansion of the arrivals and departures hall
  • a new intermodal hub
  • a new hotel and office building
  • a green boulevard and park

Planning and preparatory works

The preparatory works have already started. A temporary bus station has been set up, and work is well underway on a new drop-off zone. The latter is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2026.

The temporary bus station, located next to the current bus station, will be put into operation in March. Demolition works to clear the construction site are expected to start in April 2026. The actual construction works can begin in 2027. The full completion of the project is scheduled for 2032.

Dust and traffic impacts

During the works, measures will be taken to limit dust and traffic disruption as much as possible. The airport will remain fully operational throughout.
