Job fair in the Skyhall on 25 October

On Tuesday 25 October, Aviato, VDAB, the province of Flemish Brabant and Actiris will for the first time jointly organise a job fair, followed by a labour market congress. Venue: the Skyhall at Brussels Airport!

In Flemish Brabant, the counter of jobs to be filled currently stands at more than 9,000, of which some 500 are at Brussels Airport. Jobseekers, students and anyone looking for a new challenge are more than welcome to visit the job fair in the Skyhall. From 11 am to 3pm, they can explore the wide range of available jobs at our airport and elsewhere in Flemish Brabant. Access is free of charge, but visitors have to register in advance on the Aviato website.

For companies, this job fair is a unique platform to connect with talent looking for opportunities. The Brussels regional employment agency Actiris works together with its Flemish counterpart VDAB to encourage Brussels-based jobseekers to come and discover the wide range of jobs available at Brussels Airport and in Flemish Brabant. Many Brussels residents do not seem to look for a job outside Brussels while many employers from the periphery do not automatically look for workers in Brussels either. The job fair hopes to change this.

Over 60 companies will be present

Over 60 companies will present their job vacancies in the Skyhall including Autogrill, Aviapartner, Brussels Airport Company, Eligio, Safran, Sabena Engineering, G4S Belgium, Securitas, Tiense Suiker, Colruyt Group, De Lijn and Kim's Chocolates. Several sheltered workshops will also be present.

Labour market congress with a focus on inclusive recruitment

Labour market tightness is becoming increasingly acute. The challenge is clear: if we want to continue ensuring growth and prosperity, more people need to work. All talents are needed. The labour market today offers more opportunities than ever for a wide diversity of profiles.

At the congress, speakers will give concrete solutions and tips on how to find and retain talent and address current labour themes such as involving the social economy. Dutch language coaching on the job and lifelong learningare also themes that will be addressed at the congress

National industrial action on Wednesday 25 June

What is the situation?

Due to the national industrial action on Wednesday 25 June in which the staff of the security service provider is participating, we unfortunately expect major disruptions to our airport operations on that day.

What does this mean for my flight?

To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, we have decided, in consultation with the airlines, not to operate any departing flights on 25 June. The airlines will contact passengers directly to inform them of their options.

Arriving passenger flights

As departing passenger flights are cancelled, cancellations are also possible on some arriving flights. We advise all passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline or on our website or the app.

The flight overview on our website will show cancellations only once they are registered by the airline.

Public transport

Significant disruption to public transport is expected. Please consult the website of  NMBS/SNCB and De Lijn for the latest information regarding their services.

We regret the inconvenience caused by this action.
