Brussels Marathon & Half Marathon aftermovie

A record number of 430 colleagues, family and friends from 15 airport companies signed up for the Brussels Airport Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K with the same goal: to give it their best shot in the heart of Brussels.

With 12,600 participants representing 100 nationalities, the 18th edition of the Brussels Marathon & Half Marathon (and the 4th with Brussels Airport as title sponsor) proved to be an international running event. Neighbouring countries France, The Netherlands and Germany were traditionally well represented, but we also saw runners from Brazil, South Africa, Senegal and Vietnam at the starting line.

Traditionally, the Half Marathon was the most popular distance with 6000 participants, while 1,800 runners (including a few dozen airport colleagues!) opted for the mythical 42.195 kilometers. The Brussels Airport 10K was good for 1,800 runners. The Kids Run and Race for the Cure attracted 200 and 2,800 participants respectively to the King Baudouin Stadium.

A bright autumn sun, a course that combined sporting effort with the most beautiful spots in Brussels and a finish on the renovated track of the King Baudouin Stadium: all the ingredients were present for a successful 18th edition of the Brussels Marathon & Half Marathon.

Check out the results here.

A big shoutout to all participants!

We are also very happy that, thanks to the runners, we can donate a nice sum to the Demoucelle Parkinson Charity to support the fight against Parkinson's.

Aftermovie

We also had an aftermovie made of this great sporting event:

National industrial action on Wednesday 25 June

What is the situation?

Due to the national industrial action on Wednesday 25 June in which the staff of the security service provider is participating, we unfortunately expect major disruptions to our airport operations on that day.

What does this mean for my flight?

To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, we have decided, in consultation with the airlines, not to operate any departing flights on 25 June. The airlines will contact passengers directly to inform them of their options.

Arriving passenger flights

As departing passenger flights are cancelled, cancellations are also possible on some arriving flights. We advise all passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline or on our website or the app.

The flight overview on our website will show cancellations only once they are registered by the airline.

Public transport

Significant disruption to public transport is expected. Please consult the website of  NMBS/SNCB and De Lijn for the latest information regarding their services.

We regret the inconvenience caused by this action.
