Relive the Brussels Airport Marathon!

Relive the Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon 2024 with our aftermovie!

A big shoutout to our runners community!

On Sunday 3 November, no fewer than 609 airport colleagues got together with the same objective in mind: to put on a great sporting performance in the heart of Brussels. Although postponed to 3 November due to the visit of Pope Francis, the Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon was a real success, attracting 18,500 runners and many spectators to our capital.

18,500 participants for a record edition

The unique course in the heart of Brussels and the appeal of the European capital combined to bring together a record number of participants (and give them a chance to discover the city's top sights). A total of 18,500 people came not only from Brussels and other Belgian cities, but also from much further afield to take up this sporting challenge.

With some 10,000 participants, the half-marathon was the most popular distance, while 3,000 runners took part in the marathon. Added to these figures were 2,000 participants in the 7 km, 300 children in the 1 km Persil Kids Run and 3,200 runners in the ‘Race for the Cure by Think Pink’. A record turnout for this 2024 edition, which also attracted a large number of spectators and supporters, who came to cheer the runners along the route and gather en masse at the finish line, on the majestic Place des Palais.

The success of the event was also illustrated by the participants' commitment to the fight against Parkinson's disease. Thanks to their contribution, Brussels Airport was able to support the Demoucelle Parkinson Charity with a donation of €15,000.
