Over 2.1 million passengers in April

2,122,695 passengers passed through Brussels Airport in April, up 8.5% from the same month last year. Cargo volumes grew by 11% to nearly 70,000 tonnes.

Passenger numbers: +8.5% compared to 2024

2,122,695 passengers travelled via Brussels Airport in April, an increase of 8.5% compared to the same month last year. This increase is mainly accounted for by the Easter holidays in Dutch-speaking schools and the start of the May holidays in the French-speaking schools and The Netherlands at the end of the month. This is a strong result given the impact of the national union action on April 29.

Transfer passengers accounted for around 12% of all departing passengers, mainly on routes to and from Africa and North America.

In April, the 10 most visited countries were, in order: Spain, Italy, Türkiye, Germany, Morocco, Portugal, France, the United States, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
