42, 21 or 10 km? Go for that runner’s high!

Choose your favourite distance and participate in the Brussels Airport Marathon, Half Marathon or Mini Marathon on Sunday October 2nd.

After a forced two-year break, Brussels Airport, as the title partner of the Brussels Marathon and Half Marathon, is looking forward to welcoming you again, whether as participant or supporter.  The 17th edition of the international running event will take place on Sunday, 2 October 2022. In 2019, 300+ colleagues from 13 airport companies took up the challenge. We hope to see many more runners from the airport community at the starting line this year!

The Brussels Marathon is accessible to all runners, from newbies to experts. Participants can choose between 3 distances: the 10-km mini marathon, the half marathon (21.097 km), and of course the full marathon (42.195 km). On top of that, the routes and start/finish location will be completely new, which will make it all the more inviting and exciting. The exact routes will be communicated on www.brusselsairportmarathon.be in April).

Participate for free!

200 members of the airport staff can participate for free in the race of their choice, on the condition that the company they work for registers via Brussels Airport Company. The free tickets will be evenly distributed among the participating companies.

If, in your company, more people are interested to participate than free tickets are available, your company can register them at an advantageous rate:

  • Mini Marathon: €12 per person (€3 discount)
  • Half Marathon: €25 per person (€5 discount)
  • Marathon: €55 per person (€15 discount)

This rate also includes group training sessions and free dietary, running and injury prevention advice so all participants will be professionally primed for a fantastic race!

On D-day,  everyone running in the colours of Brussels Airport will be given access to the Brussels Airport Lounge and will receive a Brussels Airport running shirt.

Practical details

Do you or your colleagues want to join us in the Brussels Airport Marathon? Then have your company send an e-mail to brusselsairportmarathon@brusselsairport.be by Wednesday 20 April indicating the company name, the person who will act as a contact for your company (e-mail address and phone number) and an estimation of the number of runners.

Prefer individual coaching?

Your company can also choose to have its employees individually coached by our partner Energylab at a preferential rate. Participants who sign up for the coaching will undergo a mandatory medical check-up and endurance test and get a 12-week individual training programme.

If your company is interested, please have the contact for your company send us the details of the participants (name, first name, email address) by 13 April at the latest, so the programme can start in time. Information on rates is available via brusselsairportmarathon@brusselsairport.be.

Kick-off meeting on Wednesday 30 March 2022 by Peter Hespel

If you are still hesitating to take part, on Wednesday, 30th March (12:30 to 2:00 PM), professor and exercise physiologist Peter Hespel will give an inspiring keynote speech to dispel any lingering doubts. Interested companies and participants are most welcome to the Sheraton. Attention: capacity is limited, so registration is required by sending an e-mail (name – company – e-mail address) to brusselsairportmarathon@brusselsairport.be by 12 noon on Friday, March 25th.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send an e-mail to the said address.

Together, we can make it a fantastic 17th edition!

National industrial action on Wednesday 25 June

What is the situation?

Due to the national industrial action on Wednesday 25 June in which the staff of the security service provider is participating, we unfortunately expect major disruptions to our airport operations on that day.

What does this mean for my flight?

To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, we have decided, in consultation with the airlines, not to operate any departing flights on 25 June. The airlines will contact passengers directly to inform them of their options.

Arriving passenger flights

As departing passenger flights are cancelled, cancellations are also possible on some arriving flights. We advise all passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline or on our website or the app.

The flight overview on our website will show cancellations only once they are registered by the airline.

Public transport

Significant disruption to public transport is expected. Please consult the website of  NMBS/SNCB and De Lijn for the latest information regarding their services.

We regret the inconvenience caused by this action.
