Brussels Airport Marathon

Good news for the Brussels Airport running community. Over the coming three years, our airport will be the title sponsor of the Brussels Marathon & Half Marathon. The sporting event, rebranded for the occasion as the Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon, will take place on Sunday 28 October this year.

This event with an international appeal is a dream opportunity for Brussels Airport to create visibility: the Brussels marathon attracts a growing international audience of people who like to combine running with a visit to our capital city. As airport in the heart of Europe, Brussels Airport connects the country’s capital city with the rest of the world. In this way, we will also continue to put the Marathon & Half Marathon on the international map.

Keen runner? Airport companies can sign up at a discounted rate
Mark 28 October in your diary now to come and represent Brussels Airport as a participant, or come and cheer on your colleagues as a supporter!

The event has disciplines for runners at every level:
- Kids run: 1 km
- Brussels Mini Marathon: 5 km
- Brussels Half Marathon: 21.097 km
- Brussels Marathon: 42.195 km

Employees of Brussels Airport can sign up for all disciplines at a discounted rate. Your company must register for this via Brussels Airport Company, however. Are you interested in running? Contact the communications department of your company and ask them to register your company via brusselsairportcommunications@brusselsairport.be .

Take part in the competition for a chance to run for free!
Five airport employees will also have the chance to run completely free of charge. If you would like to be in with a chance of winning free entry for a distance of your choice, email the answers to the two questions below to brusselsairportcommunications@brusselsairport.be before 6 pm on 30 April.

- Competition question: What is the name of the race for children at the Brussels Marathon & Half Marathon?
- Additional question: How many answers will we have received by 6 pm on 30 April?

Please also clearly state your surname, first name, employer at the airport, airportbadge number and the discipline you would like to sign up for (Mini Marathon - 5 km, Half Marathon - 21 km, Marathon - 42 km).

Read the competition rules here.

You can find more information about the Brussels Airport Marathon at www.brusselsmarathon.be.

National industrial action on Wednesday 25 June

What is the situation?

Due to the national industrial action on Wednesday 25 June in which the staff of the security service provider is participating, we unfortunately expect major disruptions to our airport operations on that day.

What does this mean for my flight?

To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, we have decided, in consultation with the airlines, not to operate any departing flights on 25 June. The airlines will contact passengers directly to inform them of their options.

Arriving passenger flights

As departing passenger flights are cancelled, cancellations are also possible on some arriving flights. We advise all passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline or on our website or the app.

The flight overview on our website will show cancellations only once they are registered by the airline.

Public transport

Significant disruption to public transport is expected. Please consult the website of  NMBS/SNCB and De Lijn for the latest information regarding their services.

We regret the inconvenience caused by this action.
