On Wednesday 3 June, Brussels Airlines celebrated its first flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in northeastern Tanzania.

With the addition of Kilimanjaro, Brussels Airlines’ network in sub-Saharan Africa has grown to 18 destinations.
It is also the fifth destination in East Africa, after Entebbe (Uganda), Kigali (Rwanda), Bujumbura (Burundi), and Nairobi (Kenya).
The Brussels-Kilimanjaro route will initially operate two times per week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays The flight time is approximately 9 hours.
Kilimanjaro Airport is not only the ideal starting point for those wishing to climb Africa’s highest mountain. The airport is also the perfect gateway to the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, both of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
