Throughout the summer, our airport will be dressed up in its sportiest apparel. Various activities are on the programme.
Brussels Airport supports the Belgians in the FIFA World Cup in Russia and then sprints to the Memorial Van Damme.
In the airport terminal, sports lovers can take a virtual cycling trip with a view of the tarmac and from the end of July, passengers and staff can test their running abilities on the departure curb.
As one airport behind the Belgian Red Devils
On 13 June, our Red Devils left for the World Cup. The airport too can give you a feel of the World Cup. A mini-football pitch has been installed on the curb and all matches will be broadcast live in most bars and restaurants. Passengers who do not have time to sit and watch the whole match can follow the live scores on tablets in various places in the airport. The stickers on the pillars and the many flags throughout the terminal will put you right in the mood!
3,2,1, go!
After the Football World Cup, we will be turning our attention to track and field events, with the Memorial Van Damme and the Brussels Airport Marathon as climax. At many places around the airport, running tracks will show our passengers the way.
In Belgium, a sports-filled summer is, of course, not complete with a big portion of cycling. Passengers can experience a virtual cycling tour in Pier B. And for our youngest travellers there is a kids’ fitness area and there are a variety of places where they can play interactive games.
