Top management changes at Brussels Airlines

Brussels Airlines is introducing a new management structure. The current CEO Bernard Gustin will be leaving at the end of March and will be succeeded by Christina Foerster, the current Chief Commercial Officer. The Chief Financial Officer Jan De Raeymaeker will also be replaced. In addition, the current Vice President Flight Operations Thibault Demoulin will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer, also from April.

Brussels Airlines will, as home carrier, continue to exist at Brussels Airport, assured Thorsten Dirks, member of the Board of Management of the Lufthansa Group and CEO of Eurowings, the low-budget subsidiary of Lufthansa, that has fully owned Brussels Airlines since early last year.

The airline will retain both its short and long-haul flights and will also be responsible for all long-haul activities of the Eurowing Group, an important ace for the development of Brussels Airport as international hub and essential for enabling us to continue to fulfil and further expand our role as Star Alliance hub.

Brussels Airlines as brand will continue to exist for at least another year.
