New airlines at Brussels Airport

Next year, Brussels Airport will be welcoming two new airlines. Transavia will be operating flights to and from Brussels Airport from the summer season and Singapore Airlines will start their flights in the autumn. On 26 November, our airport was also pleased to welcome the first flight of Sichuan Airlines Cargo.

Singapore Airlines connecting Brussels Airport and Singapore from autumn 2020

As of 25 October 2020, Singapore Airlines will be operating a non-stop service between Singapore and Brussels. Following direct flights to Beijing, Tokyo, Bangkok, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, Brussels Airport further strengthens its Asian network with a direct flight to Singapore Changi Airport. Passengers departing from Brussels Airport will not only benefit from a non-stop service to Singapore but also from the numerous connections to Southeast Asia and the Pacific that Singapore Airlines offers from its hub in Singapore.

Transavia starts flights from Brussels Airport as of the 2020 summer season

Brussels Airport welcomes the Dutch airline Transavia beginning of the coming summer season. The airline will be offering 9 destinations from our airport, mainly to the Mediterranean Sea area. The destinations are Alicante and Ibiza in Spain, Verona in Italy, Corfu, Heraklion and Thessaloniki in Greece, Faro in Portugal, Tel Aviv in Israel and Agadir in Morocco. Transavia hopes to attract both Belgian passengers and passengers from the south of the Netherlands, as well as bringing more tourists and other visitors to Belgium.

Sichuan Airlines Cargo chooses Brussels Airport as first European full cargo destination

On Tuesday 26 November, the first full-cargo flight operated by the Chinese cargo company flew from Chengdu Airport to Brussels Airport. Sichuan Airlines Cargo will operate two flights a week between the Chinese Chengdu Airport and Brussels Airport, a perfect opportunity for quite a few companies in Belgium to start new trading relationships or strengthen existing ones. With an internal market of 1.4 billion people, the country clearly has an enormous potential for Belgian companies to start or strengthen new trade relationships.

We are particularly proud to be the first full-cargo destination of Sichuan Airlines Cargo in Europe. Thanks to our shared value to deliver high quality, we are convinced that our collaboration will lead to mutual benefits and satisfaction.

National industrial action on Wednesday 25 June

What is the situation?

Due to the national industrial action on Wednesday 25 June in which the staff of the security service provider is participating, we unfortunately expect major disruptions to our airport operations on that day.

What does this mean for my flight?

To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, we have decided, in consultation with the airlines, not to operate any departing flights on 25 June. The airlines will contact passengers directly to inform them of their options.

Arriving passenger flights

As departing passenger flights are cancelled, cancellations are also possible on some arriving flights. We advise all passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline or on our website or the app.

The flight overview on our website will show cancellations only once they are registered by the airline.

Public transport

Significant disruption to public transport is expected. Please consult the website of  NMBS/SNCB and De Lijn for the latest information regarding their services.

We regret the inconvenience caused by this action.
