Magical Christmas at the airport

The end-of-year festivities are in full swing and Brussels Airport is completely immersed in the Christmas spirit. Curious about what’s in the planning? Here’s a summary.

The Christmas mood begins when you arrive at the airport

Curb departure, Curb arrival, the drop-off zone and the bus station all breathe the spirit of Christmas. Lights and decorations can be found in all the areas, but Curb departure will simply knock you off your feet!  In the middle of the curb is the impressive Brussels Airport Christmas ball, the first unmissable selfie location for our passengers and visitors. The entrances to the Curb are also decorated with Christmas stickers and there are lots of other decoration and lights. Special domes have been installed on the terrace at the Diamant where visitors or passengers can enjoy a hot drink or mulled wine in a Christmas setting.

Christmas trees and projections herald in the Christmas spirit

In the airport building, the richly decorated Christmas trees immediately attract attention. Just like last year, they are all hung with several genuine Brussels Airport Christmas balls, which are also on sale at IDF; the proceeds go to Make A Wish. This year, there are 173 Christmas trees, dotted around the Departure Hall, Arrival Hall, Connector and the Piers. In the Departure Hall (near the Split Flap) and in Pier A, projections really boost the Christmas spirit.

Christmas fun for the little ones

The family lane has been set up again and is open every day during the Christmas holidays. This year the family lane takes its inspiration from Frozen II. Olaf the magical snowman welcomes our smallest passengers. They also receive a special gift: a great memory game inspired by Frozen. There is also a kids’ corner with special Christmas decorations, and the airport winter games can once again be played in the Piers.

Christmas music on departure and arrival

When you think of Christmas, you automatically think of Christmas music. And this year we’re again giving it our special attention. In the Baggage Hall, the Brussels Airport jukebox plays appropriate Christmas music, and BRUce Pepper also takes part - during this period you can go to him not just for information about your flight and the airport, but also for your favourite Christmas classic.

Christmas in the airport restaurants and shops

Our shops and restaurants also continue our Christmas theme. You will find a lot of Christmas promotions and special seasonal menus. Vouchers are also being handed out to attract the attention of our passengers.

Send a Brussels Airport Christmas card to your loved ones

The voucher book also contains the one and only Brussels Airport Christmas card. There are special mailboxes at various places in the airport where you can post your Brussels Airport Christmas wishes to your loved ones.

Christmas Elves help passengers to their destination

During the Christmas period, you will find Christmas elves everywhere. They are all too happy to pose with you for a selfie or to point our passengers in the right direction with an Elvish smile. Will you be visiting one of the airport buildings during the Christmas period? Then you’ll certainly notice the modified Axxicom vehicles. The Axxicom carts have been turned into Christmas sleighs for the occasion.

Come and taste the Christmas spirit!

We would like to wish you all the best as the year draws to a close.
