Ho ho ho! Christmas at Brussels Airport

The magic of the festive season is something special! The whole world seems to be bathing in an atmosphere of conviviality. The airport too has dressed up for the occasion with any number of decorations.

What can you expect from us, in addition to a wealth of fairy lights and Christmas trees?

As far as decorations are concerned, the enormous illuminated Brussels Airport bauble on the curb immediately catches the eye. It's ideal for a selfie, while pointing at your favourite travel destination. A little further along is the Chalet Chouffe pop-up bar with a heated terrace for a heart-warming drink.

Queuing with children in the family lane at passenger screening is always an experience; at this time of year, Disney caters for a customised Christmas theme with Mickey and the Roadster Racers. The Christmas episode of this cartoon series also runs in the kids’ corner of the Belgorama restaurant. Once past screening, you may very well bump into Santa's chubby belly. He is accompanied by our own BRUce Pepper, who will also be around in Connector, dancing to Jingle Bells in his season’s outfit.

Those who cannot get enough of festive snapshots can visit our sleigh and reindeer for their best Christmas pose. The tunes come from the belly of our grand piano, and on busy days you can even anticipate the dulcet tones of a choir.

Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the chocolate Christmas tree from Neuhaus in the Gallery of Light and Connector or can taste their limited-edition Christmas chocolates in The Belgian Chocolate House. There is also a Piper-Heidsieck pop-up champagne bar in Connector and in the duty-free area, hostesses treat our passengers to shopping vouchers.

In the many shops at the airport, you can find a wide range of Christmas gifts. Don’t miss the unique Brussels Airport Christmas baubles there too. For just EUR 4.95 you can have one. What’s more, the full amount goes to a good cause, more specifically Make-a-Wish, an organisation that tries to meet the wishes of sick children.

Finally, the Christmas madness also goes digital: near the A56, B29 and in Topaz you can enjoy yourself at the Airport Winter Games. Choose the ‘signal in the snow,’ ‘clean the cockpit’ or ‘Yeti on the runway.’

It is clear: during the Christmas period too, Brussels Airport wants to pamper its passengers and contribute to an unforgettable travel experience.

There is nothing left for us to say except to wish you Happy holidays with our new Christmas video!

What is the situation?

Due to the national industrial action on Wednesday 25 June in which the staff of the security service provider is participating, we unfortunately expect major disruptions to our airport operations on that day.

What does this mean for my flight?

To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, we have decided, in consultation with the airlines, not to operate any departing flights on 25 June. The airlines will contact passengers directly to inform them of their options.

Arriving passenger flights

As departing passenger flights are cancelled, cancellations are also possible on some arriving flights. We advise all passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline or on our website or the app.

The flight overview on our website will show cancellations only once they are registered by the airline.

We regret the inconvenience caused by this action.
