Employment at the airport

Security agent, loader-sorter in the baggage area or on the tarmac, dispatcher and planner, maintenance engineer, HR consultant or engineer: the jobs available at our airport are extremely varied and there really is something for everyone. In total, around 20,000 people work at Brussels Airport. Each day, new jobs crop up. In order to fill all these vacancies, our colleagues from Brussels Airport House organise various initiatives, such as the job fair which was held in March, and the training project for non native-speaker job-seekers.

Big job fair in collaboration with Air Cargo Belgium
On 29 March, Brussels Airport House organised their first big job fair, in cooperation with Air Cargo Belgium. The fair was held in cargo m! in Building 706 on Brucargo. Eighteen airport companies from various sectors, such as logistics, transport and hospitality, set up their stands and gave information about the current vacancies within their company. More than 400 people visited the fair, making it an unqualified success.

Training course for non native-speaker job-seekers
Brussels Airport House has also set up a pilot project in which non native-speakers are given a language course customised to their future job requirements. The project was set up in collaboration with Bruxelles Formation, Actiris and VDAB, the Transport & Logistics Social Fund and the companies Aviapartner, Swissport and DHL.
The course consists of an intensive language training lasting a month, followed by a technical training lasting five days. The training course was concluded by the candidates rolling up their sleeves to take part in some practical work. This month, ten non native-speakers started working for their new employer at the airport. The first results were certainly successful: ten participants have since started working for their new employer. A study is now under way to see how all this can be organised structurally and how the training course could be extended to other areas.

National industrial action on Wednesday 25 June

What is the situation?

Due to the national industrial action on Wednesday 25 June in which the staff of the security service provider is participating, we unfortunately expect major disruptions to our airport operations on that day.

What does this mean for my flight?

To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, we have decided, in consultation with the airlines, not to operate any departing flights on 25 June. The airlines will contact passengers directly to inform them of their options.

Arriving passenger flights

As departing passenger flights are cancelled, cancellations are also possible on some arriving flights. We advise all passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline or on our website or the app.

The flight overview on our website will show cancellations only once they are registered by the airline.

Public transport

Significant disruption to public transport is expected. Please consult the website of  NMBS/SNCB and De Lijn for the latest information regarding their services.

We regret the inconvenience caused by this action.
