Spotters' Day

Mark your calendars: Spotters' Day is back on August 4!

Once a year, Brussels Airport opens its doors to a select group of aviation enthusiasts for an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience. On August 4, a lucky group of spotters will get the chance to photograph aircraft from exclusive spots on the tarmac — angles you simply can't get anywhere else.

Enter the contest

On August 11, Brussels Airport welcomed 20 aviation enthusiasts for its 8th annual Spotters’ Day.

165 spotters entered a contest to be among the lucky ones to get the chance of photographing planes from a privileged spot on the tarmac.

As every year, several airlines deployed special livery planes, including ITA Airways’ “Born in 2021”, airBaltic’s “Lithuanian Flag”, and Icelandair’s “Bucketlist Xperiences”.

The programme further included a tour of Brussels Airlines’ hangar where the participants learned about aircraft maintenance and ended with a visit to BruMil military airport where they could admire the A400M from up close.

Spotting platforms

In 2018, the airport opened two spotting platforms, which offer a magnificent view of the runways and allowing spotters to capture images of aircraft in complete safety.
