Safety is a top priority at Brussels Airport, and each of you plays a vital role. On 4 February, the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) and Federal Police carried out a large-scale inspection to ensure we continue to uphold the highest safety standards together.
During the operation, around 450 alcohol tests and several drug screenings were conducted – and the good news is that all results were negative! This shows that you and your colleagues are aware of the risks of intoxication, particularly in roles that directly impact aviation safety. Your professionalism protects not only yourselves but everyone working airside.
We also observed that seat belts are still often not worn, especially on short trips. In an accident, a seat belt can save your life – and the lives of your colleagues. A small action with a big impact.
Safety is an ongoing process, not a one-time action:
• Awareness: We will continue to provide information and reminders about the rules that keep you safe.
• Regular checks: Follow-up inspections will take place, both generally and in specific areas across the airport.
Thank you for your commitment and vigilance – together, we make a difference!
