Commuting by public transport

For many colleagues, the bus or train is the preferred way to commute. It's convenient and gives you time to relax before or after work. Find out how to make the most of your journey.

By train

Brussels Airport is easily accessible by train from all parts of the country. Trains to the airport depart every 10 minutes, with direct connections from major cities like Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, and Leuven. The train station is located directly beneath the terminal. You can plan your trip via SNCB and view the station map for more details.

Good to know

Working from home a few days a week? The SNCB Flex Season Ticket might be perfect for you.

Do you have a regular or Flex Season Ticket? Then you don’t need to pay the Diabolo surcharge for trips to or from Brussels Airport – Zaventem.

By bus

Did you know that Brussels Airport has one of the biggest bus stations in the country? About 600 buses stop here every day.

The first major milestone in the preparations for Hub 3.0 has been reached: the bus station moved to its new temporary location and is the go-to spot for catching the bus.

The Location

You’ll find the bus station on Level 0, behind the former Building 2, in an area that was still airside some months ago. In the “diamond” (the terminal’s central hall where all the escalators converge), you’ll see a passageway; from there, a covered walkway leads directly to the station.

The bus station serves all bus lines

  • De Lijn: 8 lines
  • STIB: Line 12 (takes you from Brussels Airport to the European Quarter in 30 minutes)
  • 3 Intercity operators: Flibco, Flixbus, and Airport Express
  • Tourist coaches
  • Shuttles from hotels, parking lots, and skeyes

The bus schedule remains unchanged.

When the new intermodal hub opens, bus traffic will be transferred there. This is scheduled for 2029–2030.

Below is the map of De Lijn's platforms.
