Casablanca

Casablanca can be taken literally. Because this bustling port city is renowned for its splattering of white buildings. Many were built a century ago by the French who modelled them on Marseille. The most impressive construction erected by our southern neighbours is undoubtedly the breath-taking Hassan II Mosque. The dimensions are definitely hors catégorie: there is room for 25 000 of the faithful, and with the minaret reaching a towering 210 meters, you can almost see Mecca from here. Go see it!
