About Bujumbura
Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi, is located on the coast of Lake Tanganyu, one of the oldest and deepest lakes in the world. With an estimated population of 300.000 inhabitants, Bujumbura is the administrative and economic centre and the most important port of Burundi. The area was colonized by Germany at the end of the 19th century. Architecture from this period can still be admired, such as the post office. You can also visit interesting museums, like the Burundi Museum of life.
