It is possible to fly from Brussels Airport to Beirut. However, be aware of demonstrations and clashes between protesters and security forces in the centre. Especially on Riad el-Solh Square, near the chancellery of the Belgian Embassy, we advise you to be careful. Should you have to reach the embassy safely during demonstrations, be as vigilant as possible. The general travel advice, though, is to avoid gatherings and demonstrations. Access to certain areas of Beirut (especially in the southern districts), is currently controlled by the Lebanese security services through checkpoints.
