The Hockey World Cup 2026 is almost here. From 15 to 30 August, Belgium and the Netherlands will jointly host the FIH Hockey World Cup. In Wavre, the world’s best hockey nations will compete for the ultimate title: world champion. But the tournament begins long before the first match. At Brussels Airport, teams arrive, supporters meet and the excitement starts to build for an unforgettable summer of hockey.

Hockey experience at the airport

During the Hockey World Cup in Wavre, Brussels Airport will be present with a fun challenge. Visitors are invited to fold a paper airplane and throw it as far as they can. Participants will have the chance to win a double ticket to a destination of their choice. 

This summer, the World Cup atmosphere will also be present throughout the terminal. In dedicated sports viewing zones, passengers can watch live matches while waiting for their flight. Interactive games, photowalls and surprising installations will add to the experience.
