In a few days, Brussels Airport will get ready to welcome tens of thousands of holidaymakers on their way to many European and non-European destinations. And once again, Brussels Airport has put every effort into ensuring that everyone’s journey starts off as pleasantly as possible.
Nearly 350,000 passengers – 20,000 more than in 2017 – will pass through the doors of Brussels Airport during the half-term school holidays, with a peak of 47,000 leaving this Friday. As usual, with the hospitality for which it is known, the airport has thought of everything to welcome passengers, families, couples, senior citizens, lovers of good food, shopaholics and more.
As it does every holiday period, the airport ensures that your holidays start as soon as you arrive, even before you reach your destination. The "Family Lane" gives families an easier and more pleasant experience when going through security checks, which also makes the checks faster for all passengers. And this autumn it will be the colour of the Smurfs, who are celebrating their 60th anniversary this year, just like Brussels Airport. Once the checks are done, children and grown-ups will be able to meet BRUce Pepper, our robot, who will tempt them with a short quiz with some stories and facts about the airport.
Passing through Brussels Airport will also be an opportunity for passengers to discover a few Belgian specialities while receiving discount vouchers for typical Belgian products. When travelling through Brussels Airport, why not have a look around our pop-up stores – "Pimp your beauty" for massages, nails, eyebrows for men and women and "Best of Belgium beer & bites" for delicious Belgian beers served with little treats, signed by Michelin-starred chef Viki Geunes.
There are a large number of visitors at the airport during the holidays. Passengers are advised to prepare their departure carefully.
One last tip? The clocks will go back on Sunday, so don’t forget to change your wake-up alarm if you’re leaving early in the morning.
