Travelling with pets

Can you bring your best friend along for the trip? Sure! But of course, there are a few rules you must follow. Since 2004, all EU Member States apply the same rules for travelling with pet animals

Generally speaking, animals up to 5 kg (travel cage included) can travel in the cabin provided they are carried in an approved cage. Larger animals may travel as registered baggage.

The number of animals on board is limited. Always check with your airline.

Guide dogs for the blind and assistance dogs  are allowed at the airport. They are also allowed on board if the airline was notified in advance. For some animals a certificate is needed, so be sure to check with your veterinarian.
