Stretcher

At Brussels Airport, we offer support services for the transport of passengers travelling on a stretcher. This service is only available to airlines and insurers who submit a request for the handling of a stretcher passenger.

A request for the handling of a stretcher passenger must always be made using the ‘Request a stretcher’ form and at least 48 hours in advance.

There are costs associated with this support service. These costs will be charged to the applicant or insurance company.

Frequently asked questions

Requests must be made using the request form on this page. It is important that the request is submitted at least 48 hours before the scheduled flight.

The Brussels Airport Medical Cabinet (BAMC) offers the following facilities:

  • Rest area with chairs and stretchers
  • Toilet facilities
  • Water, coffee and tea
  • Medical support (advice, equipment, O2) if necessary

A maximum of two medical escorts and one other escort (friend, family member, etc.) are permitted per passenger on a stretcher. 

Medical assistance is organised by the insurer or the airline's medical team. Brussels Airport provides logistical support and coordination for transport within the airport.

You will find BAMC in the terminal on the ground floor (level 0), at the entrance from the bus station.

From the Brussels Ring Road, take the exit to the A201, the highway that leads directly to the airport. 

Follow the signs for ‘Brussels Airport’ and ‘Drop-off max 10 min’. Drive past the drop-off parking lot and turn right.
