To keep the airport up and running, we need power and plenty of it at that. Lighting, ventilation, cooling, baggage conveyors, 400Hz power supply to parked aircraft … the list goes on.

Outdoor lighting and airfield lighting also consume their fair share of electricity. 

Reducing our energy consumtpion not only cuts costs, it also contributes to lowering our impact on the environment. 

In 2012 Brussels Airport Company haar ambitie scherp door als eerste luchthaven ter wereld het energiecertificaat ISO 50001 te bekomen.

Wiith the help of this energy management system we are looking to cut our energy consumption with 20% by 2020.
