To date some 5,000 Boeing 737s have been constructed, making it the most successful short- and medium-range passenger jet in history. Since it entered service in 1967 several versions have seen the light of day. Tens of airlines use this plane for flights to and from Brussels, including on the many charter connections to Southern Europe. The large Virgin Express fleet consists entirely of new generation 737s painted in a striking red livery.
The older types of the B737 are too noisy to be used at night. The newer types (ranging from the 737-300 up to the 737 -900) are much quieter and can if necessary also be used by night to carry passengers to their destination.
