The Airbus 320 family consists of several aircraft types: the A318, the A319, the A320 and the A321. Depending on the type they can seat between 107 and 185 passengers, carrying them over a distance of over 5000 km. Although it is still considered as a short-haul plane, it is very comfortable. The aircraft is a single-aisle plane with three seats on either side.  It usually offers seats in economy and business class. In Brussels this aircraft is used by charter airline Thomas Cook and by SN Brussels Airlines for its medium-range destinations. Foreign airlines such as Lufthansa, British Airways and Iberia too often use this aircraft type at Brussels Airport.
The A320 only exists as a passenger aircraft, not as a full-freighter. However, below the cabin it has a considerable hold for cargo and baggage which are loaded into containers. Considering their volume the planes of the A320 family are very quiet which is why they are allowed to take off from or land at our airport during night-time.
