Passengers
In October 1,498,700 passengers used Brussels Airport. Whereas the number of passengers with Brussels Airlines and long-haul carriers is picking up again, the intra-European flights continue to show negative growth. As the autumn holidays fell in October last year and not in November like this year, the number of leisure travellers also decreased on October 2008. 

Cargo
With 38,700 tonnes carried, the cargo volume was down 22.5%. However the decrease was much smaller than at the start of the year. The integrator (courier) traffic continues to drop. Full freighter traffic is in line with the European average, whereas cargo carried on passenger aircraft for the first time shows a positive trend. 
 
Aircraft movements
With fewer intra-European and full-cargo flights, the number of movements totalled to 20,100 in October, down 10.3% on October 2008.
