Passengers The 1.5 percent decline in the number of passengers for the month of November (1,242,000 against 1,261,000 last year) was the smallest decrease since the crisis began. The only declines are now in European business travel and also in the low-cost segment due to the failure of Sky Europe. Leisure travel held up well in November (in 2008, the autumn half-term holiday fell in October), while long-haul traffic is stable. Brussels Airlines posted a positive growth in both short- and long-haul flights following their capacity reductions last year. Cargo The decline in cargo figures is recovering slowly: November saw the smallest fall in cargo recorded in 2009. The cargo-only segment did least well, in part owing to the impact of Cargo B's bankruptcy.
Aircraft movements With a total of 17,700 the number of aircraft movements was down 6.3% on November last year. The decline was largest in the cargo flight segment.
