Passengers
Brussels Airport handled 1,623,400 passengers in September, a decrease by 7.6% on pcp. The decrease was slightly higher than in August (-4.4%). The number of long-haul passengers again showed a positive trend in September, but the number of intra-EU passengers and the holiday traffic dropped. With Sky Europe suspending all operations the low cost activity also lost ground.

Cargo
With 35,198 tonnes carried, cargo traffic was down 27.7% on the same month last year. Leaving incidental factors such as the bankruptcy of Cargo B aside, the decrease in traffic is in line with that at other European airlines.

Aircraft movements
Brussels Airport registered 21,000 aircraft movements in September; 9.4 % down on last year.
