Brussels Airport supports the development of sports talent. In May the structural collaboration with Road to Rio 2016 was announced, a campaign by the Belgian Olympic Committee BOIC for the Olympics in Brazil. Recently an agreement was signed with soccer club KVW Zaventem to become the official sponsor of the newcomer in the second division.
Brussels Airport has opted for sports partners because of their positive and dynamic character. With the structural partnership "Road to Rio 2016" Brussels Airport supports the preparation of the Belgian athletes for the 2016 Olympics. Both national symbols join efforts to put up top performances. The airport will be part of the Belgian-Brazilian atmosphere during the Olympics, among other things through visibility in the Rio House in Brussels.
In its sponsoring policy, Brussels Airport Company has deliberately allowed for the sponsoring of local initiatives in the municipalities surrounding the airport. Obviously, sports activities are equally part of these. Recently, Brussels Airport decided to enter in a partnership with KVW Zaventem, a dynamic soccer club that is working hard on the future. The second division team continues to invest in its youth sections, with the famous international U12 tournament as the jewel in their crown. With their canteen and soccer facilities located just outside the airport perimeter, the link with the club is self-evident.
On Wednesday evening at 7.30 pm, KVW Zaventem plays its first match in the second division, a friendly match against Lokeren. The players will also and for the very first time wear their new shirts with the Brussels Airport logo. "Day after day, working hard and steadily on the future that is what brings us together. KVW Zaventem and Brussels Airport are a natural match and we are looking forward to further developing this solid project", says Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company.
