16 May: 10th anniversary Pier A - A unique commercial experiment

If we were to compare Pier A to a tadpole, the pier itself would be its tail whereas the Topaz building would be its head. The Topaz is the building you arrive in once you have passed the screening and where you will find plenty of shops and bars. Following an extensive market survey conducted among passengers in 2008, the initial offer was extended by new shopping and Food & Drinks projects. On the one hand, the offer was extended with the familiar, young and dynamic brands one sees downtown including Esprit, Massimo Dutti, Uterqüe, Desigual and River Woods. Moreover, a (third) Starbucks coffee bar and, more recently, the Bar Rouge which aims at female customers, opened in the Topaz. On the other hand, the range of luxury brands was extended by top brands including  Longchamps, Ermenegildo Zegna, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberrry and Mont Blanc.

Two new concepts even won a much coveted international award: Beaudevin was awarded 'best airport wine bar in the world', whereas the cigar and spirits specialist store Epicure won the award of most innovative shop concept.
