The last Continental Airlines flight took off from Brussels Airport on September 29th. The US carrier merges with United Airlines into United, and the name of Continental will cease to exist.
From now on the daily flight to Newark will be operated by a United B777. Flight UA960 will replace the former CO60. At 10.40 am, the last Continental flight to leave from Brussels received a water salute from the airport fire service.
Continental operated at Brussels Airport since May 1999 with DC10, B757, B767 and more recently with B777 aircraft.
With this change, United now offers direct daily flights from Brussels to Chicago (Boeing 767), to Newark (Boeing 777) and to Washington (Boeing 777).
