On Thursday 20 March the 7th edition of the Brussels Airport Aviation Awards took place.
The biannual Diamond Award went to Elie Bruyninckx, CEO of TUI Belgium, for his important contribution to the development of Belgian aviation through Jetair, the major tour operator in Belgium, and Jetairfly, the second largest airline in the country.
Here's an overview of the airlines that won an award for their performance in 2013:
The Punctuality Awards went to Air Europe (Short Haul), THAI (Long Haul) and Saudi Airlines (Cargo).
The Network Development Awards went to Croatia Airlines (Short Haul), Qatar Airways (Long Haul) and Finnair (Cargo).
The 2013 Safety Award was won by Paul McManus, airport manager for Etihad Airways.
The Environmental Award was handed out to Jetairfly.
The Brucargo Award was won by FASFC - Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain for the successful cooperation with Brussels Airport in speeding up the cargo flows.
