Next summer, the Spanish airline Vueling will be opening seven new routes from Brussels: Rome, Lisbon, Porto, Venice, Santiago de Compostela, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca. Vueling already operates direct flights to Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante and Malaga, bringing the number of direct destinations they serve from Brussels to eleven as of 2014.
Vueling first started operating at Brussels Airport in 2004. This significant expansion of their network of direct services from Brussels to Spain, Portugal and Italy confirms the prominent role our airport has started to play among the leading European airports, due mainly to its central position in Europe and the high-qualtiy service it provides.
As of the 1st of May, Brussels Airport will become a ‘focus airport’ for Vueling, which means that an Airbus A-320 will be permanently stationed overnight at Brussels. By doubling its operations the Spanish airlline is nearing the top 5 of the major users of Brussels Airport.
