First B787 Dreamliner to visit Brussels Airport

September 10, 2012

Monday, 10th September, was a big day for plane spotters and aviation fans.  For the very first time a Boeing B787 Dreamliner landed at Brussels Airport. Ethiopian Airlines, which normally uses Boeing B757 and B767 aircraft on its Brussels route, exceptionally operated the route with its brand-new B787.

The carrier received the plane on 17 August, which makes it the first Dreamliner in commercial service outside Japan.

The B787-800 can seat 245 passengers in economy and 24 in business class. Ethiopian Airlines will use the plane on various routes in Africa, but first shows the plane at several European destinations in its network.

Jetairfly is the first Belgian carrier to have ordered a Dreamliner: theirs will be put into service at the end of 2013.
