Brussels Airlines: inaugural flight to New York

June 1, 2012

For the first time in ten years it is possible again to fly to The Big Apple with a Belgian carrier. Today, Friday 1 June, Brussels Airlines operated its first direct flight to New York.

The inaugural ceremony took place in the presence of Brussels Airport CEO, Arnaud Feist, Brussels Airlines CEO Bernard Gustin and US ambassador Howard Gutman.

There was much interest in the first New York flight operated by Brussels Airlines. The flight was fully booked. The luxury chairs the airline had installed on the A330s it uses on this route are a welcome plus and were undoubtedly much appreciated by their first plane-load of passengers.
