Brussels Airport awarded best wine bar in the world

February 3, 2011

The wine and tapas bar Beaudevin at Brussels Airport was awarded at the worldwide Airport Food & Beverage Awards, which elects the best airport bars and restaurants. The first ever edition of the event took place in Manchester.

The airport bars and restaurants competed in 17 award categories.  Beaudevin shares the best wine bar award with Vino Volo at Newark (New York). The other award winners include the Centre Bar at Zürich airport (best airport bar), Banh-Mi Sandwich at JFK (best sandwich offer), Hermann’s & Mayer’s Pretzel at Frankfurt airport (best fast food restaurant) and the airports of Amsterdam and Heathrow that share the award for best design of overall F&B facilities.

Some 170 airport specialists from all over the world attended the Food & Beverage conference and awards ceremony. “Although Belgium is particularly famous for its beer tradition Autogrill, which runs over twenty bars and restaurants at Brussels Airport, surprised everyone with their original wine bar concept. The Beaudevin bar is definitely one of the most attractive airport bars in Europe, appreciated both by the experienced wine connoisseur and the accidental visitor who is looking for a pleasant place to enjoy a good glass of wine and something to eat”, says Doug Benham, Commercial Director van Brussels Airport.
